Colors of My Soul

Location : Tun Fuad Stephen's Park, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Pastel Yellow and Sweet White are two colors that should I say...represent my soul, my feeling....
These two colors are the main cause of my craziness in infrared photos. The real infrared photos do not have other colors and resemble a black and white photos but look closely and you will notice the differences. Edit the infrared photos a little bit and you will find these two soulkeeper color.....

Can you see the happiness...can you feel the calmness here.....can you sense the water watching you......?
I just do... :)

Orie and Olah

Location : Tun Fuad Stephen's Park, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Orie and Olah means something like Before and After, the original photo and after edited photos of infrared.

Orie : The Original Photo of Pulse Infrared (RAW to Jpeg)

Olah: Ater tone editing....

Orie : Original photo of Pulse Infrared (Raw to Jpeg conversion)

Olah : After editing....

And I love both version, either original or edited...the possibilities of art is massive here.......its up to you to embrace with open minded or stay natural to the true color of the world.....

Stay strong and be happy.... ;)

Entering The Infrared Zone

Finally my dream comes own infrared modified camera. I am an infrared lover, obsessive with infrared colors, crazy with massive possibilities of tones offered by infrared photos. Now the journey has begun and I am really sorry to my D90 camera for not even touching him since having my new boyfriend of D80 infrared modified 4 days ago....

Now I am learning on how to take infrared photos, the weather, the subject, how to preset white balance and investigating the effect of different white balance on the tones of infrared photos. So much things to do.....and the editing is another heavy curriculum on board...:)

This is the Infrared Pulse Version from in my Nikon D80. Captured in RAW format and edited in Capture NX2 dan Photoshop CS3.

Pulse IR from Myinfrared
D80, ISO100, f11, 1/50s,fL11mm,
Location : Tanjung Aru 1st Beach, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Can you see hotspot in the middle of this photo. One of the reason of its existance is the use of large aperture and 3rd party lens. In my case I am using a Tokina 11-16mm on my Nikon D80, and its there in most of my shots taken using this lens. The hotspot dissappeared once I change the lens to my kit lens of 18-105mm. Such a disgrace.....:)

Tree branches cut to pieces also emitted an infrared light. I guess that it had just been cut down and still looked fresh.
Location : Tanjung Aru 1st Beach, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

One of the capability of infrared is able to detect a pattern which is not so visible to the human eyes. In this picture I was not aware since I could not see the details and pattern of the cloud hovering the building in that moment. I only noticed the cloud when viewing the shots in my camera LCD awesome sight...

KL Day In Day Out

Location : A view from Kuala Lumpur International Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A week stay at this hotel on December 2010 and had this view of sunset and sunrise everyday. Wish I had bring my tripod to experiment long exposure and bracketing. Each of these photos were taken in different day and different time. The Petronas Twin Tower really looked magnificient in night view, makes me proud to be a Malaysian... :)

Gear : D90, Tokina 11-16mm, handpod and bodypod...:)

In the morning glory of light...

Blue hour...the beginning of happy hour..

Sunrise....time to work and the journey begins...

Night shot...I love how the cloud hovering over the twin tower. It looked like some sort of black magic of darkness circling around...

One Step To Macro Photography

Location : Taman Tinosan, Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia

Macro fever during school holidays at my mum's house. Looking for small creatures of insects early in the morning while fighting with the mosquitoes that seems keen on my macro blood...hahaha..

Macro Photography is really, really mesmerizing, astonishing and obsessive. These pictures were taken using my bridge camera of Olympus, macro mode, nothing more nothing else. You can imagine how closer it will looked like if those insects shots with real DSLR camera with macro lens mounted on....fuhhh..

Anyway, lesson learned which is the most important is lighting. Find the light and make sure it falls on your subject. Preseverence (patience) will bring good result...move slowly and whisper to them....hehehe.

Any comments are required and highly appreciated. These are not the best macro photos but a step closer to Macro Photography. Thank you...

View my second set of this kind of macro photography here.

A Red Dragonfly whose aware of my presence and did not move even though I had him around 30 shots...

A type of Robberfly....and he sure looks like gangsters, very mean and brutal...:)

Another angle of Mr Robberfly, a terminator...and he looks so darn sexy...ahhahahaha

A big housefly feeds on the carcass of a snail...

My mum told me that the small insects is providing food in the form of sweet liquids in exchange of protection by the ants.....a give and take society...

My first spider...quite overexposure there...

And found these whole bunch family of spider under an old table in the backyard. Light comes from a small torchlight hold by my son.....

* Some of these photos were re-uploaded after comment from my macro sifu - Ambo, noise had been reduced.

the more powerful the photo, the less it makes viewers think about photographic technique, and the more viewers tend to think of the subject matter, with technique forgotten.
