Flying Without Wing

Location : Bukit Kokol, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Paragliding is a recreational and competitive flying sport. A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by its suspension lines and the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing.

Tandem is an arrangement where people are lined up one behind another, all facing in the same direction.
(source : wikipedia)

So, on 28th November 2010, as a person who is quite afraid of height but crazy for an adventure and too late to be an aircraft pilot follow her heart to feel the experience of flying. And oh hell! that was an awesome, awesome, awesome experience, a totally out of the book feeling! My God! No words can ever describe what I felt up there....A very short but magnificient emotion and soul healer of 17 minutes in my life...gosh &*#$#*@#...hahahaha

(And especially to my friends who supposed to be there also but cannot make it that time...sorry for doing it first but I cannot wait for you....Lorrendah, Imelda, Zawani...your turn is around the corner girls...hehehe)

And this is called Tandem Paragliding...
(maksudnya menumpang jer..)

Mr. Sam, one of the pilot carried the fabric wing in that large sack... Thank you Sam..:)

The view up from Bukit Kokol where you can see almost all area of Kota Kinabalu. Great view and should be greater if captured at sunset and night time. I am going to be here again soon...:)

Wanna join me dear...?
(tumpang lalu, saya mau pergi pasar dulu yea....)

A short brief by Ust.Rezwan showing how to push the handle so you can sit comfortably up there...
(Ust. Rezwan : kalau rasa-rasa nak lebih ummmph..lompat jer...)

Gonna be the 5th women paragliding pilot in Sabah?
(hmmmm.........not a bad idea at all....hahahahaha)

Last shot before I jump.......just in case....hehehehe
With Mr.Sam, Ust. Rezwan and my pilot Mr. Amin, all pilots from Kota Kinabalu Paragliding Club. A Big Thank You....:)

The pilot waited for the right speed of wind......
(nervous betul time ni....apa nak jadi ni aah..dah la talinya halus2 pula tu...terbang ke atas ka terbang ke bawah ni...hehehe:)

And off we go.....I cannot really see what happened to the kite....things were so fast..!
(Ok...lari......!!!!
)

whoaaaaa.......!!!

yesssss!!....finallly....I was flying......and with a wing actually....:)

Can you feel it? The cloud, soft as a cotton, so near that you wish you can touch it...
And the wind blowing through your ear, sweeping your skin...
you will feel the swiftness and smoothness of motion healing an initially nerve breaking moment..
so sweet...
nothing can ever compared to this emotion....:)

Can you really feel what I feel...?

So great....so great that my fear of height disappeared just like that..pop! vanished in the air...

A wonderful experience, a great moment, a feeling of achievement...

We landed with quite a bump...and thank god I did not bring my D90 flying along. My olympus bridge camera also bumped with me on the wet football field.

There we were greeted by Mejar Haznain and his wife Aswatie, both pilots from Kota Kinabalu Paragliding Club (Kelab Luncur Udara Kota Kinabalu - KLUK). Thank you....

You have to try it to feel the experience....:)

Mood in Brunei

Location : Brunei Waterfront, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam

People and boats setting mood in one afternoon...

Brunei Tamu and Speedboat

Location : Tamu Kianggeh, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam

Tamu Kianggeh is a market on the right side frame of these photos. The river connected to the sea is used by the speedboat as a main transport to Kampung Ayer of Brunei. These speedboats will take you on tour for 20Bnd.

The first time I saw these scenery, it looked like little venice of Brunei...:)

Masjid Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin

Location : Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam

A gorgeous mosque even though built in 1958 with white and golden theme...and a real made of gold dome...The mosque not quite large as mosque usually built today but something about the mosque that made you feel humble, simple and focus.

However the main problem for muslimah to pray is no special close area for women to take wudhu'. May be, because it was designed in 1958 and around that time it was not usual for women to perform solah in mosque and they were quite 'indoor'....:)

The first photo below taken just right before heavy rain. The dark cloud gave eerie perception to the whole concept but I simply loved it.

Panoramic view of Masjid Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin stitched from 12 shots...

From different angle...

A wudhu' area...

White and golden colour at day and royal yellow colour at night!...Another awesome view...hopefully next time I can take photos of these mosque early in the morning and during sunset...should be marvelleous..!

and how i love this spot, nice lighting through the white cement...

the more powerful the photo, the less it makes viewers think about photographic technique, and the more viewers tend to think of the subject matter, with technique forgotten.
